Friday, October 10th
i. EVENT: Arlington Street Church showing of Detained
- DESCRIPTION: Will show the film Detained and follow with a discussion.

Sunday, October 12th
i. EVENT: East Boston Columbus Day Parade with LUMA
- DESCRIPTION: Join us on our float and come dressed in the typical dress of your country with your flag. LUMA’s float will have the music of every country. Come and show off the rich cultural heritage that can be found in each of our countries!
- TIME: Decorating starts at 10am, the parade starts at 11am
- LOCATION: Meet at Suffolk Downs. The parade goes towards Bennington, Chelsea St, Meridian and ending in Central Square

ii. EVENT: Immigration Forum: TPS and the fight for legalization
- DESCRIPTION: The movie Detained will be shown, as well as a presentation from Attorney Manuel Macias regarding TPS.

i. EVENT: New Americans Agenda Training & Door knocking
- DESCRIPTION: Will knock on doors asking people in the community to sign pledge cards.

ii. EVENT: Cambridge UJP Candlelight Vigil
- DESCRIPTION: Will include a dinner & the watching of the film Detained. Salvadorans on tour from the U.S. - El Salvador Sister City Project will be in attendance.

iv. EVENT: Direct from West Africa: The Song and Dance Ensemble of West Africa
- DESCRIPTION: An extraordinary group of traditional West African percussionists,
- musicians and dancers creates a modern ballet of music and movement. The troupe performs with many instruments, including the Kora, N’Goni, the Balaphon, Djembe, Doundouns and flute. Drawing from its Mandingo tradition, The Song and Dance Ensemble of West Africa offers rich and varied performances with traditional rhythms and elaborate costuming. - DESCRIPTION: Will discuss about immigration raids after watching Detained. Dinner will be provided.

All Week
i. Arlington UJP:
- Will send e-mails out to 600-700 Lexington/Arlington members notifying them why, where, and how to sign the petition.
- Will send e-mails out to Watertown residents, as well.
- Op-ed in Arlington Advocate Newspaper
- The Worcester Immigrant Coalition will reach out to members and ask for organizational endorsements.
ii. Worcester Immigrant Coalition will collect organizational sign-ons to the campaign.
iii. “Detained” will continue to be aired on Cape Cod Community Media Center "C3TV" Wednesdays at 5:30pm and Fridays at 11:30am. Steve Volukas of The Cape Cod Immigrant Center has facilitated this and the film is preceded and followed by a graphic saying: "Detained is presented by the Cape Cod Immigrant Center in support of Welcoming Massachusetts, www.WELCOMINGMA.org". Cape Cod Community Media Center "C3TV" covers the mid-Cape towns of Barnstable, Yarmouth, Dennis, Harwich, and Chatham.
